Documenting Artistry

Document Artistry

A few years ago, I photographed an artist in her studio. She wanted images to use on her website: her space, her work, and herself. I loved the opportunity to craft stories of her art through photography!

I help artisans, tradespeople, and business people have the images you need to document your craft as well as showcase and market your craft on websites, social media, in flyers, on blogs, instructional brochures, or even a documentary book.

Snapshot The Pivot Points

It's especially important to document artistry and crafts of older generations, because we don't want to lose what they know and can do when they pass on. And when documenting their crafts, let's grab a great portrait of them too, whether at their craft OR just a great picture of them smiling at the camera for their posterity!

My ultimate goal is that you have images that showcase YOU and what you do at pivot points in your life. Graduate and Missionary portraits capture the end one chapter and the beginning of another, and it is a privilege to be able to help families gather those images too!

I'm Jennifer Seely, Your Photographer

Photography was a life-path I never anticipated.

Ten years ago, I bought a "good" camera for Christmas, so I could create great pics of my kids. I started taking photography classes and became hooked. After LOTS of classes, I worked with and was coached by some of the best photographers out there (Jon Williams and Britney Gardner). I started my business in 2017 and specialized in storytelling photography for businesses in 2019. I earned a Brand Management Certificate from Cornell University's Executive Program in 2021, so that I could better help small businesses develop and build their business with branding.

And today, I'm back to my first love...the craft of photography.

My goal is to help you create the best possible images of YOUR CRAFT. Whatever your craft is, I know we can create images that help you tell your story.

Because that's OUR CRAFT.

Three Easy Steps to Photography You'll Love

Step 1: Study the Style

Choosing a photographer should be based in the style of photography that he or she produces. Take time to review photographers' galleries. Imagine if you were in one of the images and you printed it to hang on a wall. If that image feels just right, you're probably looking at the right photographer for you.

If the photography doesn't have a look or feel that you want, you may want to find a photographer who does produce the look that you like.

My photography uses saturated colors with depth and sharp focus to create our images. The 'blacks" of the images are slightly stronger to give the image strength and clarity.

Step 2: Choose a Photo Package

I offer a variety of packages to meet multiple needs, but I can also customize a package if you need something different than what is offered.

Choose a package that will give you more images than you think you need or want. The number of images you choose will help you have lots of options for whatever goals you might have.

Step 3: Book a Consultation

Phone or Zoom Consultations are available in the afternoons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please contact me if you need a time not available on the consultation schedule.

During your consultation, we'll discuss

  • your goals for the photography

  • the date and time for your session

  • the location for your shoot

  • clothing options and suggestions
